Hsinchu, Taiwan - May 23, 2024 - Lionic, a pioneer in cybersecurity, proudly announces the launch of its cutting-edge AI (Artificial Intelligence) Anti-WebThreat Technology. This innovative technology is engineered to combat the sophisticated challenge of DGA (Domain Generation Algorithm) domains, providing superior protection against malware and botnets.
Traditionally, combating botnets and malware that utilize DGA domains has been a significant challenge. DGAs generate a large number of domain names, making it difficult for law enforcement to effectively shut down botnets, as infected machines attempt to contact different domains daily to receive updates or commands. Additionally, the use of public-key cryptography in malware code prevents the imitation of commands by unauthorized entities, further complicating mitigation efforts.
To address this critical issue, Lionic has developed AI Anti-WebThreat Technology capable of detecting and blocking DGA domains. This new technology builds upon Lionic’s AI Anti-Virus Engine, which simulates human security analysts to detect zero-day viruses, and extends its capabilities to identify and mitigate the threats posed by DGA domains.
The development of Lionic’s AI Anti-WebThreat Technology involved training a machine learning model on a substantial dataset of one million DGA domains and one million clean domains. This rigorous training process, combined with years of accumulated data from Lionic’s Anti-WebThreat service, has resulted in a highly accurate model with a remarkably low false positive rate.
Eric Lu, CEO of Lionic, stated, “Our AI Anti-WebThreat Technology underscores our dedication to advancing cybersecurity measures. By leveraging our extensive experience and data, we have created a solution that effectively addresses the sophisticated threats posed by DGA domains. This technology ensures our customers receive the highest level of protection against evolving cyber threats.”
The AI Anti-WebThreat Technology is integrated into Lionic’s Anti-WebThreat querying cloud. When an AI Anti-WebThreat client program, such as those in Tera-UTM and Dual Ark-UTM, queries a URL, the server first checks the URL against the malicious and clean websites database. If the URL is not found in either database, the AI Anti-WebThreat Technology will determine if it is a DGA domain. If confirmed as a DGA domain, the client will block it, preventing malware or botnets from connecting to their command and control servers.
This AI Anti-WebThreat Technology integration offers real-time detection and blocking of DGA domains, significantly enhancing the security infrastructure and minimizing the impact of malware and botnets. With this advancement, Lionic’s customers can confidently safeguard their systems against complex cyber threats.
